Prohibition Liquor Co

Founded in 2015 by two friends with a shared passion for gin, Prohibition Liquor Co. has grown from a local backyard garage to an internationally recognised distillery. In just two years, the small batch producer was handcrafting 12,000 bottles of award-winning gin, setting a benchmark in Australia’s emerging craft spirits scene.
Prohibition pushes boundaries while honouring tradition – creating gins and limited releases that are as bold in flavour as they are rich in storytelling. Each bottle is made with quality, and a sense of fun, inspired by the bootleggers of the Prohibition era.
South Australia’s produce is at the heart of every drop – with Riverland citrus, McLaren Vale grapes and native botanicals shaping the character of their spirits. Local collaborations are also key, from working with brewers, roasters and chocolatiers to high profile projects like the Adelaide Botanic Gardens’ Chihuly in the Gardens exhibition, which connected their gin with more than a million visitors.
As a proudly family owned brand, Prohibition Liquor Co. has always been backed by the South Australian community.
“When you buy local, you’re not just supporting a business – you’re investing in the whole community,” says Head Distiller, Hugh. That support has helped the brand grow from its Adelaide roots to global recognition, while keeping jobs, creativity and innovation right here in South Australia.
With bold flavours, striking design and a loyal following, Prohibition Liquor Co. continues to prove that South Australian spirits can hold their own on the world stage – one bottle at a time.
