Gathered SA

27 September 2023

Jenna O’Dell, Director of Gathered SA knows all about the value of supporting South Australian businesses.

She founded Gathered SA markets eight years ago, with a focus on showcasing South Australian makers and creators. Since that time, Jenna has supported thousands of local businesses, from jewellery and fashion, to candles and homewares, arts, food and drinks, through regular markets held at Rundle Mall and other locations across the state.

Since day one, Gathered SA has been about supporting local businesses. With so much amazing talent in SA, Jenna always wanted to focus on keeping the money in our state to support the economy.

The success of Gathered SA’s markets has seen the opening of a new bricks and mortar store in Hahndorf.

Jenna sees the value of opening a shop in Hahndorf, as it opens up a new market to her vendors, attracting not only locals like they have been, but also interstate and international tourists as well.

She says that local markets are a really good way for small businesses to start out until they can work out what they want to do.
They give vendors the opportunity not just to display and sell their items directly to customers, but also explore opportunities to expand or develop their businesses.

As for customers, it’s great to be able to meet the makers, the person who is the brains or creative behind the brand.
